Cats go wild at the shelter!  When I was a volunteer at the Hawaiian Humane Society in Honolulu, we’d let a bunch of cats out of their cages for some playtime. The fearless young grey tabby is my favorite. Music by Fletcher Henderson.

Harley bravely defends me from my own underwear.

Cats! A visit with my feline friends at the Animal Care Foundation in Honolulu. They’re always very happy to see me, especially when I bring them yummy treats.  The very last kitty on this clip is Caramel, a very sweet orange tabby who lost the use of his hind legs when he was attacked by a dog.

Harley, our orange tabby, is hilarious. He’s nearly 4 years old now but still behaves like a kitten, whether wrestling with Max or playing with a toy bird or mouse (notice he pulls the tail off the mouse!)

  10. Most of the cats given up for adoption at the Humane Society are ordinary house cats, but every so often we get a purebred like this one.

Nalu and Max start out on friendly terms, but as usual it turns into a battle.

My cats do this ALL THE TIME!

Harley gives Max a tail bath.  Those are Doug’s legs.

  15. These are the very first cats I ever knew. Pompom was a Maine Coon Cat, and Bambi was a calico.  I was 6 years old when this photo was taken. That was nearly 50 years ago, but I still think about them.
Cats never let you forget them.
