1. The Roman Catholic Church is a twisted, deeply corrupt institution. They’ve already proven that many times over, especially with the way they protected priests who had raped children in their care. But this story really illustrates how deep the rot goes. This woman, Barbara Johnson, attending the funeral of her mother, was denied communion by a priest who told her she was “living in sin” because she was a lesbian. That same priest then walked out during Barbara’s eulogy for her mother, and failed to show up at the burial service. How cruel can you be?  It just illustrates how the Catholic Church is so corrupted by its pathological homophobia that it fails in its basic mission to help the human beings in its care.  Although the priest’s superior later apologized, it will never take away the pain this priest inflicted on Barbara during a time of grief and mourning.
